Gambling.....

The first thing i did for this blog entry was type gambling into google; and no suprise a lot of the results were websites to take part in gambling or websites which gave advice for which sites are best or tips on how to win the game. I can see why gambling can become addictive, but only to a point. When people are in thousands worth of debt personally i would think i have to stop and force myself to. But people seem to just get more and more in debt until it gets to a point where they are having their cars taken off them or even their family houses.

I dont really do much gambling; iv been in a casino a couple of times when on a night out and won about £10 but it wouldnt appeal to me to stay there all night and lose a lot of money. Another thing is the lottery; some people can become really addicted and buy tickets every week; i think ive done it only once because i really dont expect to win it and dont see why i should waste my money on it.
Although i do buy scratch cards more so than anything else; this is because i think you have more chance of winning on it and 3/4 of the time i do win some money back; so maybe thats why i have stuck to them.

Being addicted to gambling is just like being addicted to drinking or drugs and it can be very hard for people to break away from the habbit as they may be so used to doing it; even if they have lost thousand of pounds, and their friends and families in the process.
But i do have to agree with the picture above; gamblers families for example may only see that their family member has a problem when they are loosing money. But if they are winning hundreds and thousands of pounds they wouldnt see it as a problem, but would see it as a blessing to have won this amount of money.
